Minnie Vans at Disney World

Minnie Vans at Disney World

There are a lot of amazing transportation options at Disney World.

One of my favorites is the Minnie Van. This transportation option will give you flexibility, convenient pick up and drop off locations, and even car seats for little ones.

But this transportation option isn't for everyone. Find out how it works, the benefits, the costs, and more.

What are Minnie Vans?

A Minnie Van is a cleverly named van decked out in Minnie Mouse polka dots. These vans are driven by Disney Cast Members, and can be used to take you anywhere on Disney property.

Similar to ride share services Lyft and Uber, you can call a Minnie Van on demand to pick you up wherever you are at Disney.

How do You Get a Minnie Van?

If you have ever used Lyft or Uber, you'll have no problems calling a Minnie Van.

The Minnie Van service is run through the Lyft app, so calling a Minnie Van will be almost identical to calling a Lyft. Here is how you'll do it:

  1. Download the Lyft app on your phone (I recommend having this on your phone and your account set up before your trip)
  2. Once you are on Disney property you can activate the Minnie Van service through a pop-up on the My Disney Experience app (if you don't see this contact guest services).
  3. Open the Lyft app and select your pickup and drop off locations. Pickup locations will default to the closest location to you.
  4. Once you have your locations set, you'll see your car options. You'll see the regular Lyft options, Lyft XL, etc. You'll want to scroll over until you see Minnie Van. You'll be given your estimated costs and timeline.
  5. Select Minnie Van. Once you do that a driver will confirm your pickup, and you'll be given a pickup time, and car information (so that you get in the correct Minnie Van).
  6. Head to your pickup location (noted in the app) and go!

Where Can Minnie Vans Go?

Minnie Vans can be used to take you anywhere on Disney property. This includes all 4 parks, 2 water parks, Disney Springs, all Disney resorts, and Disney Springs resorts (Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort, and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek).

Minnie Van service can also be used to take you to and from Orlando International Airport and your Walt Disney World Resort (or select offsite resorts) which include:

  • All onsite Disney World resort hotels
  • Swan and Dolphin Hotels
  • Four seasons Resort Orlando
  • Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels (B Resort & Spa, Best Western Lake Buena Vista, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton, Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, Holiday Inn Orlando, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista and Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista)
  • Bonnet Creek Resorts (Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Waldorf Astoria Orlando, and Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek)
  • Flamingo Crossings Resorts (SpringHill Suites Orlando and TownePlace Suites Orlando)

Lastly, Minnie Vans can take you to and from Port Canaveral for a Disney Cruise.

Minnie Van Drop Off and Pick Up Locations

One of the biggest perks of the Minnie Van is that it has incredibly convenient drop off and pick up locations.

At Disney World resorts you'll have the option of being picked up or dropped off at the front of the resort, or if you are a guest staying that resort you can be dropped off or picked up at your resort building. You'll be given the option in the app.

At Magic Kingdom Minnie Vans are the only vehicles other than buses that can drop you off in front of the park. Even regular Lyft or Uber ride share vehicles will drop off at the Ticket and Transportation Center, where you'll then have to take the monorail or ferry to the park entrance.

What do Minnie Vans Cost?

Pricing for Minnie Vans are similar to that of other ride share services like Uber or Lyft. The price is based on the distance you are traveling, and the time of day. The difference with Minnie Vans is that they have an initial flat rate fee of $15 and a higher per/mile charge. You can expect to spend a minimum of $30 per ride for any ride on Disney property.

If you are looking for a Minnie Van airport transfer you can book this service for $155 for a one-way trip. This service is available from 7 a.m. until midnight, and the maximum number of bags is 6 medium-sized suitcases (due to limited space in the vans).

Minnie Van airport transfers can be reserved up to 6 months in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

Lastly, guests taking a Disney Cruise can also book a Minnie Van for transfer services to and from Port Canaveral for $249 each way. You can reserve a Disney Cruise Minnie Van by calling Disney Cruise Line Embarkation Services at 1-800-395-9374.

Accessable Minnie Vans

If you or someone in your party is using a wheelchair or EVC, you can still use the Minnie Van service. They have vans available that accommodate your mobility device.

Note that there are a limited number of Accessible Minnie Vans available, so there are often longer waits for these vans. However, you can reserve these vans an hour ahead of time by calling (407) 828-3500.

Minnie Van Pros

  1. Car Seats: Each Minnie Van has 2 car seats that the driver can quickly install. This makes traveling with small children incredibly easy.
  2. Convenient Drop Off and Pick Up Locations
  3. Chatting with Cast Members: Your driver will be a Disney Cast Member. Chatting with them about all things Disney can make for a fun ride
  4. The Disney Touch: Not only will you be riding in the adorably themed ride, but your driver will play music themed to wherever you are going (If you're heading to Epcot you'll hear ride music from that park on your ride).

Minnie Van Cons

  1. The Price: If you are looking to get somewhere quickly for less money, you may want to consider a regular Lyft. If you need a car seat you can request one for a fee.
  2. Limited Availability: During busy times availability might be limited.
  3. Scheduling: You cannot schedule a Minnie Van more than an hour ahead of time through the app.
