An Overview of Hollywood Studios at Disney World

Hollywood Studios was the 3rd park to be built at Disney World. If you haven’t been to this park in forever you might even remember it as MGM Studios (I know I do!). This park is home to all things movies! From the Muppets to Indiana Jones and Star Wars, this rapidly evolving park is a favorite.

This park is divided in to 7 areas (soon to be 8 areas):

  1. Hollywood Boulevard
  2. Echo Lake
  3. Grand Avenue
  4. Commissary Lane
  5. Animation Courtyard
  6. Sunset Boulevard
  7. Toy Story Land
  8. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Each of these areas is known for certain landmarks and attractions-

Hollywood Boulevard

  • The Entrance to the park
  • The Brown Derby Restaurant

Echo Lake

  • Jedi Training
  • Star Tours
  • Hollywood and Vine

Grand Avenue

  • Muppet Vision 3d

Commissary Lane

  • Sci-Fi Dine in Theater

Animation Courtyard

  • Star Wars Launch Bay

Sunset Boulevard

  • Rock ’n’ Rollercoaster
  • Tower of Terror
  • Fantasmic!

Toy Story Land

  • Slinky Dog Dash

Stars Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

  • Coming Fall 2019

Transportation to Hollywood Studios

There are multiple transportation options for getting to Hollywood Studios.

Parking

You can park for free at Hollywood Studios if you are a resort guest or annual pass holder. Otherwise, parking is $25/day.

Ferry

You can take a ferry boat from a few select resorts

Buses

There are bus stops to and from the resorts that stop in front of the park.

Minnie Vans

Using the Lyft app you can call a Disney Cast Member to pick you up in a special van that looks like Minnie Mouse. All Minnie Vans have 2 car seats available and can take you anywhere on the Disney property. Price varies depending on how far you travel.

Gondolas

Coming soon. No dates announced just yet.

Bringing items into the Park

At Hollywood Studios, you CAN bring a bag or backpack on to every attraction. So feel free to pack a bag with your essentials for the day.

What can I bring in to the park?

You can bring:

  • Food
  • Small cooler
  • Milk/formula/other drinks
  • Small tripods or monopods (they have to fit into your backpack
  • Your own stroller

What items can’t I bring?

  • Wagons (You can’t bring anything that your child has to be pulled in)
  • Folding chairs
  • Selfie sticks
  • Weapons
  • Large coolers
