December is a magical time at Disney World. The parks are fully decked out for the holidays. The resorts are equally festive. It is the happiest time of the year, and it is the most magical place on earth. What could be better?
There are tons of amazing holiday festivities (some paid extra ticketed events, and some free events) that are sure to delight.
The weather in December is warm and pleasant. You'll want to be sure to pack layers. While the days will be warm (and maybe even hot), the evenings will cool down quickly.
Crowds in December can vary wildly. The first half of the month is slow to moderate crowds. Many kids are still in school. The holiday rush has not yet begun.
As it gets closer to the Christmas holiday, you will see a spike in crowds. As kids are off of school more visitors enter the parks. And Christmas itself is one of the busiest (if not the actual busiest) day of the year at the parks.
