    Resort Recreation

Disney's Polynesian Resort offers 2 pools. The largest pool being the Lava Pool which features a towering volcano, a waterfall and a thrilling 142 foot-long waterslide. A zero-depth entry point, similar to a beach, slopes gently into the pool making for easy entry and exit.

The Oasis Pool is a quiet leisure pool located in a lush garden.

In addition to the pool areas, this resort features its own beach! Here you can fish, play volleyball, enjoy a campfire, and even rent a boat.

From the beach you'll have a view of the Electrical Water Pageant over the Seven Seas Lagoon. This nighttime water show features lit up water floats gliding along to a medley of songs.

The Polynesian Resort also features a running trail that spans approximately 1 mile. The trail connects to the Grand Floridian Resort and the Contemporary Resort, and even gives you a view of the Disney Wedding Pavilion.

Ask a Cast Member or look for signs around the resort for additional activities, such as movies under the stars or Cast Member lead pool games.

    Transportation at The Polynesian

    • Disney Buses: Buses can be taken to any of the parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks from this resort
    • Ferry Boat: A Disney Ferry Boat runs from this resort to the Magic Kingdom approximately every 15 minutes (weather permitting)
    • Monorail: This resort is on the Resort Monorail line that runs from Magic Kingdom, The Contemporary, The Polynesian, the Grand Floridian, and the Ticket and Transportation Center

Who is This is Resort Best For?

If you love fantastic theming this resort is for you! From Polynesian rooms and restaurants to fruity drinks (My personal favorite includes fruit, an umbrella, and a back scratcher). Plus this is one of the few places where you can grab a delicious Dole Whip. Grab a drink and watch the fireworks from the beach. Also, this is a great resort if you are looking for convenience. You can hop on the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom or EPCOT in a breeze.

    The Downside?

This resort can be expensive. Also, the rooms can be spread out in different buildings. So if you aren’t in one of the preferred rooms you might have a hike when you get back at the end of the day. Also, the buses going to the other parks can be shared with other resorts. So this can cause longer wait times or rides to and from the parks.
