Disney is now using a reservation system called Disney Park Pass to be sure that guests can enjoy the parks without them reaching capacity.
Here is what you'll need to make a reservation:
To make a reservation for the parks you'll first need to head to the My Disney Experience website.
Go to the tab that say "Disney Park Pass System."
From here you'll click on the button that says "Make a Disney Park Pass Reservation."
You'll then be asked to log in to your My Disney Experience account. Be sure to have that set up, and to have your groups tickets all linked to your accounts. You'll also want to make sure that your group is all linked in Friends and Family on the website. You can learn more about My Disney Experience here.
After you log in you will see your account, and your friends and family that are linked. You can select the people in your group that you'll be visiting the parks with.
You are then brought to a calendar. Select your dates. Then you'll select the park you want to visit.
Keep in mind that you can only visit one park per day.
After you select your dates and your park you will grab the available time and agree to the terms and conditions. You can then confirm your reservation.
If you need to reserve multiple days you'll have the option of selecting more reservation days, and the process will be repeated.
The Disney Park Pass system is available to the following people:
Note that reservations for regular ticket holders is on a separate calendar from annual passholders. So while one may show "sold out" for a certain date, the other may show availability.
If you have tickets or an annual pass that allows for park hopping, you do still have that option available.
In order to take advantage of park hopping, you will need to make your first park reservation as shown above. You do not need to make a reservation for your second (or third or fourth) park. You only need the first park reservation.
You mustvisit your first park before you can hop to your next park. If you do not check in to the park you have a reservation at, you will not be able to head to your next park.
You can hop parks any time after 2pm. Hopping will not be permitted before that time.
You can park hop to any park. There is no limit.
Your reservation must be made for each park that you want to visit for your entire trip. So you'll need to know Disney plans before you start booking reservations (and if you have restaurant reservations you'll still need a park reservation. See more on that here).
Park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the reservation is finalized. At this time, guests will be able to select one park per day. But if you have park hopper tickets you can hop after 2pm.
If you are looking to book a trip, guests will be able to view park reservation availability prior to booking.
