Planning a Trip to Walt Disney World on a Budget: Saving on Souvenirs

If your kids are anything like my kids (or let’s be honest.. like ME), you can’t go to Disney World without looking in every shop at all of the amazing clothes, toys, pins, stuffed animals, purses, and more. And again, if you are anything like me, the sticker shock on some of those items can be a little tough to take.

There are a few ways you can still bring a little Disney home with you, without paying the outrageous prices.

Disney’s Character Warehouse

I only suggest this if you have enough time. If you plan on taking a break day during your trip, or maybe starting your first day as a recovery after travel day, this might be a good way to check out some legit Disney souvenirs at a discounted price.

The Disney Character Warehouse is NOT located on Disney property. So you will need a car, or take a cab or Uber/Lyft to get there. It is located at the Orlando International Premium Outlets, and at the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets.

While they are located off of Disney World property, these are still owned and operated by Disney. So you know you’ll still get the same great service, and you’ll get the real deal merchandise.

You can get some amazing Disney merchandise for 50% off or more. Just keep in mind that your selection will be limited to whatever they have in stock. But if you have a little extra time, you can get some super cool stuff for a fraction of the park prices.

Uniqlo Shop

This is a great store in Disney Springs. They have amazing Disney clothing at a fraction of the price of other shops, like World of Disney. The store itself is huge and has something for everyone.

Discounted gift cards

If you are picky about the trinkets you wants to bring home, and you don’t want to risk missing out on your favorite characters or items at the discounted shops, you can always load up on discounted gift cards before your trip. I wrote an entire post about how to get your hands on somediscounted gift cards.

This is a great way to not only get your souvenirs for less, but to keep yourself on a budget. Purchase your gift cards ahead of time and distribute to your family. Your kids will know exactly how much they have to spend on their souvenirs. It keeps them involved. It makes them feel responsible. It keeps them from asking you for a toy they see every ten minutes.

Happy Shopping!
