The Cabins at Fort Wilderness (DVC)

Update, October 2026: The old Wilderness Cabins are gone. Disney replaced them with The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, a Disney Vacation Club resort that opened July 1, 2024. Disney now lists it as a Deluxe Villa, NOT a Moderate. You don't have to be a DVC member to stay here. You can book a cash stay through Disney when a cabin is open, or rent points from a DVC owner. This rustic cabin gives you the best of the wilderness, and the resorts.

Rooms Available

There is one cabin type to rent:

1 Bedroom Cabin

• Bedroom: queen bed and twin bunk beds
• Living area: queen-size pull-down bed
• 6 person max occupancy
• Full kitchen with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave and full-size oven/range
• One bathroom, plus a second vanity outside it
• About 500 square feet, with a patio deck
• Some cabins are dog-friendly

There are several restaurant options available at this resort:

The Chuck Wagon

• Quick service
• Dining plan accepted
• This camper serves hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches and more

Crockett's Tavern

• Bar service
• Dining plan NOT accepted
• This walk up lounge has wings, nachos, beer and more. Enjoy your treats in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

• Table service
• Dining plan accepted
• This dinner show is a rootin tootin good time for the entire family. You'll enjoy delicious dinner and a fun show

Meadow Snack Bar

• Quick service
• Dining plan accepted
• This pool snack bar has light food, snacks, and drinks

Trail's End Restaurant

• Quick service
• Some dining plans accepted; confirm in My Disney Experience
• Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Pioneer Hall, 7:30 AM to 9:45 PM. Mobile order is available. P&J's Southern Takeout closed when Trail's End came back

Transportation at The Cabins at Fort Wilderness

• Disney Buses: Buses can be taken to any of the parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks from the Outpost Depot at the front of this resort. A free internal bus also loops from the cabins to the Outpost, the Settlement and the Meadow pool
• Boat: Boats run from the Settlement marina to the Magic Kingdom (weather permitting). Boats also cross Bay Lake to Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge
• Golf Cart Rental: This property is huge. So you have the option to rent a golf cart during your stay. There is an extra fee for rental, and advanced reservations are a good idea as they can sell out

Who is This is Resort Best For?

What could be better than combining a quiet cabin in the wilderness with your theme park visit?! This is a great option if you love the outdoors. There are tons of activities on the property. Each cabin sleeps 6 and has a full kitchen, so a bigger family fits in one cabin. You can also park your car at your cabin which is incredibly convenient. Overnight parking is free.

The Downside?

The bus rides can be long. You have to take a bus to get anywhere. You'll need to take a bus to the front of the resort (the Outpost Depot), and from there you can take a bus to the parks.

These cabins are also harder to book than they used to be. DVC members get first pick, so cash nights can sell out early.
