If you are visiting the parks in 2021, you can expect a completely different experience.
Disney World Planning during Coronavirus ResourcesIf you are looking for a way to enjoy the Magic Kingdom with little to no crowds, the After Hours Event at Magic Kingdom might be the perfect option for you.
This is an extra ticketed after hours event at the Magic Kingdom. The park will remain open 3 hours after the park closes, and you'll receive a few extra perks.
Here is how this event works, what is included, what it costs, and my review of this extra event at the Magic Kingdom.
There are two versions of this event available. The After Hours Event and the Villain After Hours Event.
Tickets for After Hours cost $129 for both adults and children. There are discounts available for annual passholders and DVC owners. The cost is $99 for annual passholders, and $95 for DVC owners.
Tickets for Villains After Hours cost $145 for both adults and children. If you are an annual passholder or DVC member the cost is $115 for adults and children.
You can purchase tickets on Disney's website or from a Disney travel agent. You can get a quote on your trip with Disney After Hours here.
For 2020 you can attend on the following dates:
JANUARY
FEBRUARY
MARCH
APRIL
MAY
JUNE
JULY
This event starts anywhere from 8pm to 10pm depending on the date. The park will remain open for 3 hours after regular park closing for event ticket holders.
You can check in to the event starting at 7pm (1 to 3 hours before actual start time depending on the date). You will be given a wristband once you check in to show that you are an event ticket holder. Check in points are located at the park entrance, and also at various spots around the park for guests who spent the day at Magic Kingdom. There will be After Hours signs and Cast Members to help get your wristband.
If you spend the day in Magic Kingdom make sure you stop by one of these check in points. Cast Members will be asking to see wrist bands throughout the night and before you enter any ride queue.
Because this event is limited tickets, rides are entirely walk on. You could use this event as a way to experience Magic Kingdom rides without any wait at all.
It's also a great way to just experience the park with very few guests. If you have ever wanted to explore or photograph the park without other guests this is the event for you.
ALMOST every ride will be available during this event. Some character meets will not be available, and the rides Carrousel of Progress, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, Hall of Presidents, and Enchanted Tales of Belle wont be available.
In addition to walk on times for rides, you will also get unlimited complimentary bottled water, bottled soda, ice cream, and popcorn. You'll find Cast Members with refreshment carts located around the park.
Villain After Hours includes everything mentioned above, and also a few fun extra events that you wont find at the regular After Hours Event:
This event is pricy, but it is a great way to see almost all of the Magic Kingdom is a very short amount of time. I personally used this event as a way to have a date night with my husband. We have a toddler, and so we vary rarely get to ride attractions together. So we were able to ride almost everything at the Magic Kingdom in a single evening.
I would also recommend this event for guests who have a short trip planned. You could easily spend your few days at other parks, and see all of the Magic Kingdom in one evening with this ticket.
If this event is in your budget, I highly recommend it. It's a wonderful way to see this park with very few other guests.
