Do you ever get jealous that kids get to do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique princess makeovers, and since you're over the age of 12 you can't join in the magical fun?
Now adults have the chance to to have their very own makeover experience with Character Couture Makeovers at the Grand Floridian Resort. I grabbed two girl friends to check out this experience and see if these makeovers were really as fun and exciting as their child counterpart over at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
Here we'll talk about what is included in this experience, what it costs, find out if it's worth it, and more.
A character Couture makeover is salon experience for guests ages 4 and up. You can pick any character you want (Princesses, villains, classic characters, and more are all on the table!).
Your stylist will work with you to create a fun look inspired by that character. There are 3 packages available:
Prices range from $50-$90 for children and $80 - $120 for adults depending on the package you chose.
The stylists will provide all of the makeup and even the hair accessories.
I headed to Senses Spa at the Grand Floridian with 2 friends to try out the character couture makeover for myself. We chose the Magical Makeover package that included both hair and makeup.
While my two friends decided to go a little more traditional with their character makeover selections, I wanted to throw my stylist a little curveball and see what she would do.
My friend Brittany asked for a Rapunzel look. My friend Siera asked for a Belle inspired look. And I asked for something a little different. I asked to be transformed in to C3PO from Star Wars.
My stylist didn't even blink. She got to work, discussing types of gold eye shadow with me, and asking how I felt about futuristic looking braids.
All 3 of us were off with our new looks.
In the end, we all had an amazing time, and felt fully transformed in to our characters.
Brittany had Rapunzel braids, and the salon even had flowers on hand to complete the look. Siera was a perfect classic Princess, and was even given a tiara to wear. And I was amazed with how effortlessly my stylist transformed me in to a shimmering gold droid.
The amount of detail put in to both the hair and makeup was impressive. And the price is actually less than I have paid elsewhere to have professional hair and makeup done for various events.
Based on the price we paid for the makeovers, the amount of fun we had during the process, and the amazing end results, I would definitely say that it is worth the price.
Currently you can book a Character Couture makeover at Senses Spa in the Grand Floridian. Appointments can be made by calling Disney at 407-WDW-SPAS or having your travel agent book for you.
If you are looking to do a mother/daughter experience, you could book your child at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique as they also have a location at the Grand Floridian. However, that location is in the lobby of the resort.
Senses Spa is located in a separate building outside of the DVC villas. So you might want to consider booking your mother/daughter appointments together at Senses, instead of going to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. For our appointment all 3 of us were together the entire makeover.
